About The San Antonio Community Wind Ensemble
Deliberately diverse and fully inclusive, The San Antonio Community Wind Ensemble (SACWE), is one of the San Antonio area's newest up-and-coming community wind ensembles, consisting of musicians from all over the San Antonio and surrounding areas. SACWE is dedicated to providing world-class experiences for its audiences and its personnel through performances, community outreach, and music education. Founded in the Summer of 2016, SACWE is excited to embark on it’s second musical journey. As of May 2017, SACWE is proud to be the newest program offering of the Crossmen Productions, Inc.
Crossmen Productions, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) education and youth development organization assisting young people in becoming outstanding individuals through music and the performing arts that began in October of 1974. In October of 1974, the 507 Hornets and Keystone Regiment merged in the outskirts of Pennsylvania to form what is now Crossmen. Since then, Crossmen have grown to become a perennial Drum Corps International (DCI) World Champion Finalist, reaching DCI Finals 26 times in the corps’ over 40-year history. In the fall of 2006, Crossmen moved operations to San Antonio from our former home in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The Crossmen have served thousands of students throughout its history, providing not only music education but life-lessons to carry with them as they leave the world of drum corps for a future in life. MISSION
San Antonio Community Wind Ensemble aligns their mission to that of Crossmen Productions Inc:
To enrich and shape the lives of (young) musicians and performers through music education and the performing arts.
Additionally, family, honesty, perseverance, dedication, independence, interdependence and excellence are taught and practiced by each and every member at Crossmen and SACWE. We are committed to teaching our members the life skills they need to succeed.
SACWE prides itself on its diverse membership. Our musicians are educators, high school and collegiate students, professionals in the community, military servicemen and veterans, parents and grandparents, just to name a few.

Interested in donating or becoming a sponsor?SACWE, the Crossmen, and Texas A&M University-San Antonio have teamed up to bring more musical opportunities to the Southside of San Antonio. For the 2022-2023 season, SACWE will be the only community band with it's home base in the historic Southside of San Antonio. With our roots planted at TAMUSA, we are hoping to provide an outlet for students at the university, community colleges, area high schools and the surrounding area to continue making music in their lives.
Your donation makes a HUGE difference in our efforts to give back to our community though music. We are looking for sponsors for donors that can help us expand our percussion section and music library. Make a donation today by texting SACWE21 to 41444, by visiting our website here! |
